How RV Rack Check verifies compatibility
The database is intentionally conservative. We summarize manufacturer-published facts, expose source conflicts, and keep “Not verified” as a valid answer.
Evidence hierarchy
Primary manufacturer product pages, current fitting instructions, warranty terms and official RV-use guidance are the preferred evidence. Retailer pages, forums and reviews can identify a question, but they do not override the manufacturer.
What the status labels mean
Manufacturer supported means application-specific manufacturer support was found without an unresolved application-specific restriction in the evidence reviewed. Supported with conditions means configuration, hitch, load, geometry or installation conditions apply. Manufacturer excluded means the manufacturer excludes the use. Not verified means evidence is incomplete, generic or internally conflicting. These labels summarize manufacturer guidance; they are not certifications issued by RV Rack Check.
Regional scope
Current records use U.S./North American manufacturer sources and model variants unless a record says otherwise. A rack sold in another market can have a different SKU, hitch configuration, manual, load rating or legal requirement. Verify the instructions for the exact regional product you own before travel.
Conflicting manufacturer sources
Manufacturers occasionally publish inconsistent labels across a product page, specification block, warranty or instruction document. We do not silently pick the most permissive statement. The conflict is shown and the result is downgraded when needed.
We do not infer across categories
Motorhome support does not become travel-trailer support. A generic RV claim does not automatically become flat-tow support. A base rack’s support does not automatically carry to add-ons, adapters or swing-away accessories.
How factual data is used
We manually normalize factual specifications such as application support, weight limits, receiver size and published restrictions. We link to sources and do not reproduce product photography or substantial manufacturer marketing copy.
Update policy
Every rack record shows a last-checked date. Product guidance can change; if a current manufacturer document conflicts with our summary, use the manufacturer document and report the discrepancy to contact@rvrackcheck.com.
