Bike racks on flat-towed vehicles

A rack behind a flat-towed car or SUV is not the same installation as a rack directly on a motorhome.

Look for explicit flat-tow language

Hollywood Racks and several current Küat product pages explicitly list flat-towed vehicles. If the manufacturer only says “RV approved,” RV Rack Check does not automatically convert that into flat-tow support.

Accessories can break the chain of support

A swing-away adapter or hitch extension may be allowed behind a passenger vehicle but prohibited in an RV or towed application. Verify every component in the load path.

Unknown is a useful result

If a manufacturer source does not clearly cover flat-towed use, the responsible answer is “Not verified,” followed by a manufacturer check—not a guessed answer.

Use the checker for a specific rack. General rules are useful, but the manufacturer instructions for the exact regional rack variant and configuration always control.
