Travel trailer bike rack rules
Travel trailers are a common place where a generic “RV compatible” assumption fails.
Do not infer travel-trailer support
Hollywood Racks explicitly excludes the RV Rider from bumper-pull travel trailers even though it supports motorhomes and qualifying fifth wheels. Thule’s current T2 Pro XTR fitting instruction also explicitly excludes travel trailers.
Look for an explicit towable-RV statement
Swagman E-Spec Pro publishes a separate towable-RV capacity, while Traveler XC2 is specifically described as engineered for travel trailers and fifth wheels. An application-specific manufacturer statement is stronger evidence than a retailer category badge.
Bumper mounting is a separate question
Some products require a chassis-mounted receiver; others provide a specific bumper adapter for defined bumper construction. A bumper-mounted receiver should not be treated as interchangeable with a chassis receiver unless the manufacturer says so.
